About Laurie

The Gentle Kind was created by Laurie Skerski, a Bristol-based yoga teacher, mum and community wellbeing practitioner with a passion for making wellbeing feel simple, accessible and rooted in everyday life.

Laurie’s own journey with stress, anxiety, motherhood and learning how to regulate the nervous system has shaped the way she teaches and the reason The Gentle Kind exists.

Through gentle yoga, breathwork, time in nature, community and small sustainable choices, Laurie began to see wellbeing as something wider than a weekly class — a way of living more gently with ourselves, each other and the planet.

The Gentle Kind brings these ideas together through gentle yoga, accessible movement, family-friendly workshops, low-waste living and community connection.

Laurie’s sessions are calm, supportive and beginner-friendly, with no pressure to be flexible or get anything “right”. Classes focus on gentle movement, nervous system support, rest and simple tools for managing stress in everyday life.

The intention is to create a welcoming space where you can:

✨ Relax and unwind
✨ Feel supported, not judged
✨ Reconnect with your body
✨ Take time for yourself without guilt

Laurie is currently undertaking her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and teaches within that scope, prioritising safety, accessibility, and a welcoming atmosphere. Pricing reflects her current training stage and her commitment to offering inclusive, supportive yoga.
