Small Changes, Real Impact
A gentle space for wellbeing, community and sustainable living
The Gentle Kind is a community-led wellbeing and sustainability project based at Hartcliffe City Farm in Bristol, created by Laurie — a local mum, yoga teacher and advocate for slower, gentler living.
Through yoga, parenting and my own journey towards a more intentional lifestyle, I’ve become passionate about helping people reconnect with the simple things that support wellbeing: gentle movement, mindful breathing, time in nature, creativity, low-waste living and community connection.
The Gentle Kind brings these ideas together in one welcoming space, offering gentle yoga, affordable wellbeing activities, family-friendly workshops and simple low-waste living ideas. The aim is to make calmer, healthier living feel accessible, practical and rooted in everyday life.
Any surplus raised through the project will be reinvested into local wellbeing activities, subsidised places and community projects at the farm.

Ways to Support
There are lots of ways to help bring The Gentle Kind to life — whether through a donation, practical items, skills, or time.
1. Donate money
A financial donation will help us buy essential materials, storage, signage, plants, yoga props, workshop supplies and subsidised places for local people.
2. Donate goods or surplus stock
We’re grateful for donated, surplus or discounted items such as shelving, storage, plants, display materials, eco products, yoga props, workshop materials or anything useful that could be given a second life.
3. Trade skills or time
You can also support the project by offering practical help, professional skills or volunteer time. This could include painting, building, planting, photography, marketing, design, social media, admin support, workshop help or setup days.
